Asexuality is a sexual orientation, and its just as normal and valid as any other. Alternatively, many people who never become romantically interested in anyone are aromantic. Being aromantic is a romantic orientation, and like asexuality, its normal and valid.

Is it okay to not want to date anyone?

It is so, so good to know this, and to opt out of dating for a while, as opposed to trying to date and being flaky, negligent and basically the worst. If you know youre not in a place to be taking it seriously, its more than okay to abstain from dating simply so someone else doesnt get hurt.

Its totally normal if you dont want to be in a relationship, because not everyone does. Its not weird to say so; in fact, its normal to be single at any point in your life and still not want a relationship or real commitment.
