Question: When do you find out gender NZ?

If you want to find out the sex of your baby, you can usually do so during the 20 week scan. Tell the sonographer that youd like to know your babys sex at the start of the scan.

Can you tell gender at 20 week scan?

Generally, the ultrasound sonographer isnt supposed to tell you what they see—thats news youll receive in a follow-up appointment with your doctor, says Wilson—but most technicians are allowed to tell you the gender. Also, no news is often good news.

When do you find out the gender of your baby?

Most doctors schedule an ultrasound at around 18 to 21 weeks, but the sex may be determined by ultrasound as early as 14 weeks . Its not always 100 percent accurate, though. Your baby might be in an awkward position, which makes it difficult to clearly see the genitals.
