Question: When is it too soon to start dating after a relationship?

Many times, people are ready to start seriously dating anywhere from six months to a year after a major breakup, but it still largely depends on the length of time they spent in the relationship, Alexis Nicole White, an author and relationship expert, tells Bustle.

How long after a relationship ends should you start dating?

“Most people probably wait at least a month if they had a relationship that was at least a few months long,” Sherman told INSIDER. “If it was a more significant relationship then they may take longer, like three months or more to start dating again.”
