Question: Should you date during your PhD?

Is doing a PhD lonely?

Studying on a PhD course is not only an academic challenge, but it can also be rather socially draining. Over the three year course, you will be expected to conduct your research independently and as a consequence of this some students may begin to feel isolated and lonely.

Do PhD students get married?

It is possible to get married during PhD and many people do that. But I would advice not to have children in that case until you finish, both of you need to work to manage finances if you have child. With only one person earning, it is almost impossible to earn a living for three in PhD.

Is there an age limit for PhD?

No, theres no age limit for PhD but the age limit for Junior Research Fellow (JRF) is 28years. PhD and JRF are different. Let me explain. For JRF, after qualifying in CSIR you can get the fellowship which will be of 5 years (2years of JRF+3years of SRF).
