Question: Should I date someone with leukemia?

Can I get cancer from my partner?

You cannot “catch” cancer from someone else. Close contact or things like sex, kissing, touching, sharing meals, or breathing the same air cannot spread cancer. Cancer cells from someone with cancer are not able to live in the body of another healthy person.

Can chemo be passed through sperm?

Tips for healthy and safe sexual activity: Chemotherapy can be excreted in saliva and semen for 48-72 hours after a treatment. You should use a condom for oral sex or intercourse (vaginal or anal) during this period to prevent your partner from being exposed to chemotherapy.
