Question: Do you need a hookup for RV?

RVs do not need to be plugged in but they can be. In fact, an RV can be plugged into many different sources and a plugged-in RV offers a lot of additional functionality. So most RVers prefer to be plugged into the electrical grid and a water hose when possible.

What kind of hookup do you need for an RV?

You will most likely need to set your RV up to be able to connect to the standard 3-prong household plug you use at home. Since your RV will need at least a 30/50 Amp hookup to power the rig, youll be limited in what you can run connected to a homes 15/20 Amp electrical outlet.

How long can an RV go without being plugged in?

When the RV is not plugged in, that electricity usually has to come from batteries. Under normal use conditions – lights, propane refrigerator, charging phones etc and water pump, a 12v battery will last 2-3 days.
